8. Shut down the computer. Turn off the computer and all attached devices.

9. Remove the computer cover.

10. Remove the modem from the PCI slot.

11. Replace the computer cover.

Uninstalling the modem in Windows 2000

To uninstall the modem in Windows 2000, do the following:

1. Click Start, then click Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click Add/Remove Hardware.

3. Click Next.

4. Select Uninstall/Unplug a device.

5. Click Next.

6. Select Uninstall a device.

7. Click Next.

8. Select Uninstal a device.

9. Select Conexant HCF V.90 56K PCI Modem.

10. Click Next.

11. Select Yes, I want to uninstall this device.

12. Click Next.

13. Click Finish.

14. Shut down the computer. Turn off the computer and all attached devices.

15. Remove the computer cover.

16. Remove the modem from the PCI slot.

17. Replace the computer cover.
